Support System for You and Your Homeschool

Much of my 20 year success in homeschooling is due to God and a small group of wonderful people which I  will call my support system. Through difficult decisions, victories, and complications….their support was priceless!

Many, if not most, of the successful people we know (including the President of the United States) is surrounded by trusted advisers. People whom they know is FOR them, and support what they do, and are not afraid to tell them when they are off the path.  YOU are bringing up future leaders – our next generation… So wouldn’t it be wise for you to have advisers too?

Sometimes we can have so many problems or perplexing decisions to make, and we think we can handle it –  but no one makes the right decision ALL the time. It is wise to get advice from someone who can see your situation from the outside and advise with a clear head.

These people know what you do, and they cheer you on. They also know how to tell you when they think you’re wrong. They listen, encourage, rebuke, and counsel – and even though they are busy, they find time for you, because you are important to them.

If u don’t have a support system already, then seek out people you know are trustworthy, wise, hardworking, serious about God AND life – and they should be interested in your success (like your pastor, spouse, another homeschool parent, your parents, a friend, or fellow church member). You do NOT want advice from someone who is not 100% FOR you and your mission – a person like that can confuse life in ways that are unimaginable!

Your support advisers don’t even need to KNOW they are your support advisers. Just go to them when you need advice – and take it from there!

Remember…NO man is an island. We all need support.

Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. – Proverbs 15:22
